About A Time for Humanity

A Time for Humanity™ Exists to Help People Engage More Constructively During Times of Division, Conflict, and Uncertainty

Too often, differences in values, political views, and belief systems, can create tension and drive wedges between us. But many of the conflicts and frustrations we attribute to those differences are also shaped by how we interpret situations, react under stress, and engage with one another during moments of disagreement and uncertainty.

Who We Are

A Time for Humanity™ is a nonprofit organization focused on helping people better understand and improve how they think, communicate, and engage with one another during disagreement, uncertainty, and growing division.

Through facilitated dialogue, learning experiences, and practical reflection, our goal is to help people explore how our assumptions, interpretations, and reactions shape interactions and relationships.

ATFH is grounded in the belief that greater awareness of these patterns can support more thoughtful communication, healthier dialogue, and stronger capacities for cooperation across differences.

Mission

To empower people to engage across differences with greater awareness, understanding, and cooperation.

Our Vision

A Time for Humanity™ envisions a future where communities and societies work together to address shared challenges and build a better future for us all.

Why We Exist

Many conversations today become difficult before real understanding has a chance to develop. We can quickly form assumptions during stressful or emotionally charged moments, and our reactions can shape our interactions before we have time to reflect on what’s happening.

We want to help people better understand these patterns and create space for more thoughtful and constructive engagement.

Our work begins with everyday human interaction: how we listen, react, communicate, disagree, and respond to one another in our daily lives.

Why We Begin With Human Interaction

A Time for Humanity™ focuses first on human interaction because lasting change that comes from systems and institutions must begin with the people within them. It grows from how people think and communicate with one another, and how they navigate disagreement and uncertainty in everyday life.

We believe people are capable of more thoughtful engagement across differences. When people strengthen qualities such as compassion, cooperation, humility, understanding, and openness, they improve not only individual relationships but also the environments they help create within our global society.

We believe awareness begins with the ability to better understand ourselves and others and engage more intentionally with the world around us.

By helping people practice thoughtful engagement, we hope to encourage healthier relationships, stronger cooperation, and more constructive approaches to the challenges people face together.

When we learn to approach differences with greater awareness and emotional balance, the effects can extend far beyond individual interactions and contribute to a more peaceful and cooperative world over time.

About the Founder

A Time for Humanity™ was founded by Kenneth Callison, whose writing and public conversations helped inspire the organization’s focus on human behavior, fear, cooperation, and the future of humanity.

The ideas explored in his book, The Way to World Peace: An Idea Whose Time Has Come, helped raise many of the questions that shaped the organization’s early vision.

While the book provides philosophical and inspirational context, ATFH focuses on creating practical educational experiences and engagement opportunities that help people explore these ideas through dialogue, reflection, and interaction.

Leadership and Governance

A Time for Humanity™ is continuing to build its leadership, governance, and advisory structure as the organization develops its programs and community engagement efforts.

The organization is guided by individuals committed to greater awareness, constructive engagement, and the long-term development of ATFH’s mission and programming.
